Waiver Wire Week 9
Drew Lock (Den)
Rostered in only 6% of ESPN leagues and coming out of a 3TD game against the Chargers, Lock will be facing Atlanta - who has given up the most fantasy points per game to QBs next to Seattle. Lock has all the offensive weapons he needs to repeat his performance against one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL.
Nick Foles (Chi)
Rostered in 11% of ESPN leagues and coming off a 20 fantasy point game against New Orleans, Foles faces the 6th easiest defense for QBs. Foles is a safe option, but don’t look for an explosive game.
Matthew Stafford (Det)
Even though Stafford is Rostered 60% of ESPN leagues - if you can grab him, do it. Stafford posted decent numbers against one of the top pass defenses in the league last week, and now faces one of the worst against Minnesota. I would also expect the Vikings to score at will, putting Detroit in plenty of passing situations.
Zach Moss (Buf)
Roster in an unbelievable 40% of leagues as per ESPN, Moss is my overall favorite pick up. He seems to be emerging as Buffalo’s #1 RB as he continues to outrun Singletary. We also saw him get great goal-line work, rushing in for two TDs and also having a 21yrd run. If Buffalo’s QB continues to struggle, they’ll be looking to run the ball regardless of how bad Seattle’s pass defense has been. I also expect Buffalo to slow down Seattle more than any team has so far, that being said Buffalo just might not be as desperate to pass as some might expect.
Jamycal Hasty (SF)
Rostered in 62% of ESPN leagues, Hasty has emerged as San Francisco's clear #1 rusher even with McKinnon dominating the passing downs. He faces Green Bay’s rush defense, which is the easiest match up a RB could ask for. Expect him to get more carries with a much stronger efficiency than last week.
Deejay Dallas (SEA)
Dallas is rostered in 19% of ESPN leagues. With Carson and Hyde injured, Dallas will be expected to continue to get a heavy volume against a much easier rush defense this week against Buffalo.
Marvin Jones JR (Det)
Jones is Rostered in 56% of ESPN leagues. With Golladay out, Jones is looking to be Stafford’s #1 target against a poor Minnesota pass defense. The Vikings have allowed more TDs to receivers than any other team; leaving Jones licking his chops.
Allen Lazard (GB)
Lazard is rostered in 32% of ESPN leagues. In an offense that has seemingly no weapons for Aaron Rogers behind Davante Adams, Lazard should be the reinforcement Rogers needs to overcome the 49ers defense in week 9. Lazard totaled 37pts in his first 3 games before getting injured and will look to recontinue the trend now that he’s back in the lineup.
Corey Davis (Ten)
Davis is rostered in 52% of ESPN leagues and believe it or not has been producing relatively similar production compared to his counterpart AJ Brown. It goes without saying, Davis should be owned in all leagues despite his tough matchup this week.
Eric Ebron (Pit)
Rostered in 61% of ESPN leagues and an extremely thin fantasy relevant TE pool to pick from, Ebron wins by default. He’s facing the Dallas Cowboys, who have given up the 6th most fantasy points to TEs. As one of Roethlisberger’s more dependable receivers - Ebron should be a decent pickup.
Trey Burton (Ind)
Rostered in only 15% of ESPN leagues; Burton has been producing relatively okay fantasy numbers for a TE, but what makes him an interesting pick is having 2 rushing TDs in his last 2 games.
Other Notable Pickups
Kirk Cousins (QB - Min)
Damien Harris (RB - NE)
Danny Amendola (WR - Det)
Darnell Mooney (WR - Chi)
Greg Olsen (TE - Sea)
